GANGSTER SQUAD - A mob king in 1949 Los Angeles thinks he's got the police in his pocket, but a small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders aim to take him down. Cast: Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Bryan Cranston. Rated R for strong violence and language. Drama/Thriller.

DJANGO UNCHAINED - A former slave in search of his wife teams up with a bounty hunter on the trail of a murderous duo. Cast: Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson. Rated R for strong graphic violence throughout, a vicious fight, language and some nudity. Action/Drama.

THE GUILT TRIP - An inventor hits the road so he can sell his product - but his mom decides to join him. Cast: Seth Rogen, Barbra Streisand. Rated PG-13 for language and some risqué material. Comedy.

A HAUNTED HOUSE - In this horror spoof, a man takes drastic measures when the demon possessing his girlfriend gets in the way of his sex life. Cast: Marlon Wayans, Essence Atkins, Cedric the Entertainer, Nick Swardson. Rated R for crude and sexual content, language and some drug use. Comedy.

THE HOBBIT - In this first of three "Lord of the Rings" prequels, Bilbo Baggins is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, during which he meets the creature that will change his life forever: Gollum. Cast: Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis. Rated PG-13 for extended sequences of intense fantasy action violence, and frightening images. Fantasy/Adventure.

THE IMPOSSIBLE - A family's tropical vacation turns into a life-or-death nightmare when a tsunami hits. Cast: Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor. Rated PG-13 for intense realistic disaster sequences, including disturbing injury images and brief nudity. Action/Drama.

JACK REACHER - Ex-military investigator Jack Reacher teams with a beautiful young defense lawyer to unmask a ruthless and cunning enemy orchestrating an elaborate scheme. Cast: Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall. Rated PG-13 for violence, language and some drug material. Action/Thriller.

LES MISERABLES - An ex-prisoner for a minor crime of desperation is hunted for decades by a ruthless policeman in this musical drama set in 19th-century France. Cast: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfreid. Rated PG-13 for suggestive and sexual material, violence and thematic elements. Musical drama.

LIFE OF PI - A young man survives a disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey with another survivor: a Bengal tiger. Cast: Suraj Sharma, Irfan Khan, Gerard Depardieu. Rated PG for emotional thematic content throughout, and some scary action sequences and peril. Adventure/Drama.

LINCOLN - In this revealing Steven Spielberg-directed biopic, the 16th president pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices will change the fate of generations to come. Cast: Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader. Rated PG-13 for an intense scene of war violence, some images of carnage and brief strong language. Drama.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE - An older couple takes in their grandkids for an extended period, only to find their child-rearing methods are out of date. Cast: Billy Crystal, Bette Midler. Rated PG for some rude humor. Comedy.

PROMISED LAND - An ace salesman is sent to a town to secure drilling rights, but the residents won't be bullied. Cast: Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Frances McDormand, Hal Holbrook. Rated R for language. Drama.

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS - A group of holiday heroes team up to battle an evil spirit known as Pitch who wants to take over the world. Voice cast: Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher, Chris Pine, Jude Law. Rated PG for thematic elements and some mildly scary action. Animated/Family.

TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D - A teen brings her friends to her newly inherited remote mansion, not knowing the chainsaw-yielding killer Leatherface has taken up residence. Cast: Dan Yeager, Alexandra Daddario, Trey Songz. Rated R for strong grisly violence and language. Horror.

THIS IS 40 - This sequel to "Knocked Up" follows up on a couple several years after they've had an unplanned baby. Cast: Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Megan Fox, Albert Brooks, Melissa McCarthy. Rated R for sexual content, crude humor, pervasive language and some drug material. Comedy.

ZERO DARK THIRTY - An elite team of intelligence and military operatives hunt the world's most dangerous man: Osama bin Laden. Cast: Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Jessica Chastain. Rated R for strong violence including brutal disturbing images, and for language. Action/Thriller/Drama.
